WHAT IS THE GTRN?

Welcome to the Global Technical Recruiters Network.

The GTRN was formed in 2000 by technical recruiters active in their local recruiting associations from all over the United States for the purposes of sharing best practices as well as sharing ideas and success stories from each others associations. They soon learned that there was great value in sharing ideas for speaker, training seminars as well as understanding the variety of technical markets across the country. The group declared their Mission Statement in 2001 and have since been meeting monthly via teleconference and are in the process of incorporating. The group continues to endeavor to add value to their local TRNs, Technical Recruiter Networks, providing a means for personal and professional networking, an opportunity to exchange opportunities outside each of the local TRNs area and direct access to other intelligent recruiters in different markets. Recruiter Networks from the following states have been associated with the GTRN: Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Wisconsin.

The Global Technical Recruiters Network (GTRN) is seeking active participation of non-affiliated TRNs. We are an affiliation of local geographically-based Technical Recruiting Network (TRNs) throughout the US and Canada. TRN MEMBER BASE

Member TRN organizations each have different rules of who is qualified as a member ranging from corporate employee Recruiters/Recruitment Managers to contract recruiters, and or third party contingency or classic agency recruiters. Some TRN organizations allow 3rd party agency recruiters as members for example, while others cater exclusively to contract and in-house technical recruiters. Some TRNs offer only individual memberships, while others offer corporate membership. The primary thread of commonality is the interest in IT and or high technology recruitment.

OUR HISTORY

Some of the TRNs are over 15 years old. In early 2000, several of the TRNs started meeting on a quarterly basis to form the GTRN. Several other TRNs such as SEN (the Southeast Employment Network), the Atlanta based TRN, Florida, Minnesota, Boston, etc., have participated in our formation and previous meetings. Several other TRNs exist and have not actively participated in GTRN activities yet we enthusiastically invite their participation! Currently, the GTRN Board meets monthly via teleconferences, and plans to have in person meetings once a year at locations are yet to be determined.
